Getting Started
Thanks to wonder of science, it's possible to make high quality dance music on a fairly small budget. Starting with a basic laptop (although make sure it has enough memory and a large harddrive) plus some music production software, you can be authoring your own tracks in next to no time.
In terms of software, personally I use FL Studio XXL Producer Edition v9 as I find it easy to work with, it has tons of free sounds, great sampling functions and the interface with third party plugins is very simple.
There are other software packages available such as Cubase, Reasons etc... but these tend to be more expensive and probably more difficult for novice producers.
Ok so now you have the basic equipment, search the internet for sample packs which will help get you started on those early production. Then over time you can add some quality plugins such as Native Instruments - Komplete 6.
